The Russian Army of the XV–XVII Centuries. An Outline of the History of Organizational Structures

Abstract

В очерке рассматривается эволюция организационных структур русского войска великокняжеского и царского периодов, в связи с важнейшими военными реформами. Особое внимание обращается на истоки тех или иных форм воинской организации, оговариваются границы их бытования. Отмечается, что подразделения европейского типа утвердились как основа организация вооруженных сил задолго жо петровских реформ, еще во второй трети XVII в. The article examines the evolution of the organizational structures of the Russian army of the Grand Ducal and Tsarist periods, in connection with the most important military reforms. Particular attention is paid to the origins of certain forms of military organization, the boundaries of their existence are specified. It is noted that the units of the European type were established as the basis of the organization of the armed forces long before the reforms of Peter the Great, in the second third of the XVII century.
