Abstract

The main characteristic of the object under research are given. A modelling scheme is developed and equivallent parameters of Substation Zarya 500 kV are found. Overvoltages during the shunt reactor switching-off, caused by cut of current in a breaker and a recurrent breakdown of intercontact gaps, are investigated. Influence of outgoing lines on overvoltages during the  shunt  reactor switch-off, caused by cut of current in the breaker.
