Abstract

This paper presents a technique that can be used in the design of step-up regulated linear power supplies. The proposed technique enables the proper selection of the components that compose the power supply. This power supply increases its input voltage through a full wave voltage doubler, which replaces the typical full bridge rectifier. The selection of the capacitors that compound the voltage doubler is not simple, particularly, when a current-hungry load is connected to the circuit.
