Abstract

This paper introduces the structural types and the development of liquid crystal materials in China. The situation of liquid crystal display materials is reviewed. New fluorine containing liquid crystals, cyclohexane series liquid crystals and ethane series liquid crystals are widely used in TFT-LCD for their low polarity which result in low viscosity, high voltage holding ratio and low birefringence.
