Abstract

This paper provides implementations of three well-known ciphers – Caesar Cipher, Vigenere Cipher and Hill Cipher in Microsoft Excel. It is shown how the ciphers can be broken by using Brute-force Attack, Frequency Analysis Attack and Known-plaintext Attack.
