Abstract
Advances in microcapillary liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS), in combination with the completion of genome sequencing projects, have opened the door to systematic large-scale mammalian protein expression profiling. The aim of this emerging field is to gain insight into the systems biology of complex multicellular organisms.
