Accuracy of ultrasonographic determination of fetal weight at term among Filipinos

Abstract

Background:  The birth weight of an infant is one of the most important factors affecting its survival. Four computer‐generated formulas, Hadlock, Merz, Osaka and Shepard for weight estimation are in common use in our institution, but none of them has been devised specifically for Filipinos. It is the objective of the study to determine which among these formulas is accurate in diagnosing the fetus weighing 4000 g or more among Filipinos.
