Abstract
The book encourages students to seek work in nonprofit newsrooms. It remains to be seen if this relatively short-term trend offers sustainable growth. U.S. journalism and media communication schools, meanwhile, continue to struggle with declining enrollment given the lack of competitive pay and employment opportunities. In this way, Baleria offers a response to the fundamental need to rethink how we teach journalism. At the same time, new books will better address generate artificial intelligence and the potential to contribute to elevating careers or further damage the journalism landscape.
