Abstract
The mode competition problems in a gyro-TWT were investigated by a nonlinear steady-state multimode theory. Simulation results show the effect of backward wave oscillation mode (TE21(2)) and working mode (TE11(1)) on each other for different beam current and guiding center radius, which helps to discuss how to suppress the oscillation and improve the amplification characteristics.
