Certain factors are responsible for the juveniles to commit delinquent acts such as the negative influence from peer groups and other socio-economic factors. Juvenile Delinquency is a deliberate issue as a delinquent child can become a persistent criminal in future. The Constitutional validity of laws [“Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 replaced the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000] relating to juvenile delinquency was challenged in the Supreme Court as it was against Article 14 .The involvement of juveniles in heinous crimes lead to the replacement of the old statute and categorized the children between the age of 16-18 years as an adult.
