Repair of tetralogy of fallot and double outlet right ventricle through left anterolateral thoracotomy in the supine position

Abstract

Left anterolateral thoracotomy in the supine position was found to be a convenient approach for closure of functioning Pott's shunt in a patient with tetralogy of Fallot and another patient with double outlet right ventricle. Due to the excellent exposure, we have continued to use this approach for intracardiac repair of tetralogy of Fallot in 4 subsequent patients.
