The paper presents the requirements and suggestions of the harmonized European standards for managing track geometry quality. Abstract

The deterioration rate of railway infrastructure and track geometry increases during their life cycle, and the performance of maintenance activities decreases over time. The average age of tracks in Serbia is over 50 years old, which requires exceptional knowledge and skill of the Infrastructure Manager to adapt the maintenance strategy to the infrastructure condition and achieve safe traffic.
