Abstract

Before authors have made attempts to classify cracks according to certain characteristics: geometric, geologic, tectonic, hydrogeological, and others. Knowledge of the genesis of cracks is very useful in solving applied problems, especially in studying the distribution of cracks in the medium. Information about the origin of cracks allows us to express certain hypotheses about the patterns of their distribution and plan further measurements on this basis. The article presents an analysis of the genetic classifications of cracks developed in rocks and their systematization.
