Abstract
he use of plastic as food and beverage packaging has not been replaced until now, the impact of the existence of plastic waste is increasing. The main constituent elements of plastic are carbon and hydrogen, which are identical to the main constituent elements of asphalt. Indonesia is one of the asphalt importing countries, 50% of domestic asphalt needs are met by importing from other countries. One solution that can be done to reduce plastic waste and reduce asphalt imports is the use of plastic waste as a mixture of asphalt-concrete to reduce the use of asphalt. This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of PET type plastic waste on the AC-BC asphalt mixture. PET waste is made in the form of fiber which is added to the asphalt mixture with a composition of 0.3% and 0.6% compared to the asphalt mixture without PET. The addition of PET fibers in the asphalt mixture indicates that the asphalt stability increases with the increase in the percentage of PET fibers in the asphalt mixture, the flow value becomes smaller, this indicates that the asphalt mixture tends to be stiffer, the MQ value also becomes larger.
