MIGRAÇÃO E MOBILIDADE PENDULAR NAS METRÓPOLES CEARENSES: INTEGRAÇÃO OU FRAGMENTAÇÃO?

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze and to compare the relationship between pendular mobility and migration in the RMF and in the RMC, both in the state of Ceara. The 2010 Census microdata is the main source of information. The methodology adopted consists of logistic regression models to estimate the chance of migrating and performing pendular mobility simultaneously and selectivity. The results indicate that migrants are more likely to work for OR (1,602) or study (OR = 4.091) in RMF, whereas in MRC this proposition is valid only for work pendulum (OR = 1.572). In addition, sex and age, among other factors, may significantly influence the migration condition and the pendular mobility.
