Microcomputer Aided Power Design For CATV Amplifier

Abstract

A CATV powering program is described and a listing for the Apple II microcomputer provided. The program enables a user to rapidly and confidently compute voltages and currents for CATV amplifiers powered with either switching regulated or series regulated power supplies. Savings of both design time and energy consumption are possible since the user is able to quickly and easily optimize terminating voltages and total power supply current consumption. The operation of the program is described by way of a step-by-step run of a sample layout.
