The First Canadian Fibre-Optic CATV Trunking System

Abstract

The economic and technical criteria which guided the design and development of the first operational fibre-optic cable TV trunking system in North America are presented. A description is given of system hardware with emphasis on unique technical advancements. System parameters, test results and digital data transmission capabilities are discussed.
