N-Back and CogMed Working Memory Training: Proceed With Caution

Abstract

Early efficacy studies of two new working memory training programs, n-back and CogMed, have received a great deal of attention in the popular media. In this article, the authors review some of the research on memory training and present conclusions about the implications of the results of these studies for clinical practice.
