Abstract

Objective

The purpose of this article is to provide a minimal set of CBCT (Cone Beam Computerized Tomography) device-related parameters in orthodontics.

Materials and methods

Benefits and limitations of the cone-beam computerized tomography imaging in orthodontics have been reviewed in order to determine and suggest the proper use of this radiographic technique.

Results and conclusions

The results showed that it is possible to achieve more information from 3D CBCT imaging compare to traditional 2D imaging but there is a lack of evidence-based data of the topic and a wide consensus.
