These papers, in the aggregate, form a unified contribution that will have a wide and enduring interest. Those who were privileged to attend the program in person saw, in addition, films and taped interviews that made a pleasurable and indelible impression. The film presentations, of course, could not be incorporated into the book. The second part of the volume would seem to be directed toward \"medical history\" in general rather than the Hopkins achievement in particular.
