Abstract

Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus) is a very important and valuable pelagic fish in Scotland. This species is known to be one of the hosts for Kudoa thyrsites, the myxosporean agent of post-mortem myoliquefaction, known as ‘soft tissue’.
