Abstract

: This study presents the results observed in the production of the phoneme The communicative situation in which the realizations were obtained was a semi-structured interview, with the purpose of obtaining data which approaches a spontaneous mode of speech. It was found that the largest number of phonemes realizing the phoneme /r/ occurred as approximant, alveolar, voiced [ɹ] sounds, regardless of the geographical place of residence of the participants and their gender. Additionally, the results from this study were compared to those obtained from the same participants in a read-aloud task (Retamal & Soto-Barba, 2017).
