Therefore, combining stem cell and gene therapy would have dual treatment mechanisms (regenerating damaged neural tissue and modifying specific causes of NDs) and lead to better clinical outcomes. Abstract

Neuronal death is the common final pathologic pathway of various neurodegenerative diseases (NDs).
