When Traditional Healing leads to death: A fatal case of a new-born

Abstract

Despite the great advances in the medical field, traditional practices are still widespread, particularly in the Arab and African countries. We report the case of a full-term 2-day-old boy who was brought to the emergency department in cardiorespiratory arrest after he was taken by his parents to a traditional healer because of the baby refused to breastfeed. The healing rituals used to manage the baby's condition were deadly.
