Abstract

Professionalisation of the roles that union officials play necessitates certain competencies in them to increase union effectiveness. This paper attempts to understand managerial competencies for union officials in the Indian context. Such papers may either improve our understanding of markets in such economies through novel analyses or build models by taking into account the special characteristics of such economies to provide guidance to managers.
