ANÁLISIS PRAGMÁTICO DE LA FUNCIÓN DE LOS TRATAMIENTOS NOMINALES EN ACTOS DE HABLA DESCORTESES EN MEDELLÍN (COLOMBIA)

Abstract

The article describes nominal forms of address (NFA) in the speech of Medellin and discusses the pragmatic aspects involved in their selection, within the framework of discourteous speech acts. A socio–pragmatic methodology was used as the basis to propose a series of methodological criteria to explain how the data collection process was carried out, as well as the systematization and pragmatic analysis of NFA. The article shows that nominal forms of address serve the purpose of reinforcing the discourteous act. It was also possible to establish that, in the context of discourteous acts, the use of an NFA indicating intimacy or solidarity does not achieve the same mitigating effect it might produce in non–courteus utterances.
