Abstract

The aim of this article is to explore the depiction of nature and its elements in Klostermannʼs early German short stories. These stories were mostly published during the 1880s in the Prague-based German-language newspaper Politik. Eleven of the stories, published by Gerold Dvorak at the Stutz Publishing House in Passau under the title Faustins Geschichten aus dem Böhmerwald (2003), were selected for the research. A further aim of the study is to explore how the literary landscape was constituted in these short stories. The research is based on the principles of hermeneutic analysis.
