Moreover, cGAS detects tumor-derived DNA and stimulates endogenous antitumor immunity. Thus, the cGAS-STING pathway is a promising target for cancer immunotherapy. Abstract

Cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) is a cytosolic DNA sensor that initiates innate immune responses.
