Abstract

Rubem Alves (1933-2014) escreveu em 1981 um pequeno livro – O que é religião (Editora Brasiliense). Com esta obra R. Alves conseguiu ampliar sua presença na discussão sobre o fenômeno religioso, alcançando tanto a área acadêmica como um grande público fora das instituições religiosas. A leitura e o estudo desse livro são imprescindíveis para quem pretende dar ao assunto um tratamento científico. Este artigo tem a intenção de oferecer algumas anotações que talvez ajudem a quem se interessa pela análise da religião, segundo a perspectiva de Rubem Alves – como é o caso do GERA Jequitibás (Grupo de Estudos sobre Rubem Alves). Nesse grupo essas anotações serviram de base para conversas muito mais interessantes ainda.
