Abstract:Holocaust distortion has become in recent years a new challenge to the memory and the commemoration of the Holocaust. Unlike Holocaust deniers, people and institutions engaging in Holocaust distortion do not deny the factuality of the Jewish catastrophe. They just deny that their nation, or their ethnic group had anything to do with the fact. During the last few years, Holocaust distortion has become an unstated policy of the Polish state. Well-funded state institutions and organizations aligned with the government, muzzle and silence independent and critical historians and educators of the Shoah.
