Abstract:Many see Aggravain as only a minor villain in the Morte Darthur. He actually ascends comet-like from 'extra' to protagonist as the book nears its close. His ascent impressed Wynkyn de Worde into choosing a woodcut focused on Aggravain and his scheming for his 1529 edition of the Morte Darthur. [DTH]
