Abstract
Most of transgender people plan to have a family but their fertility may be affected by gender affirmation. Hormone therapy can permanently affect gamete production, especially in trans women. Sex reassignment surgery leads to permanent sterility. In France, networks of health professionals have been organized and recommend access to fertility preservation for trans people. However, gamete collection is often difficult due to hormonal incongruence for trans women or to the invasive nature of the procedure for trans men.
