Nursing education accepts new challenges.

Abstract

This paper describes an innovative experience in which nursing students made home visits to postoperative patients. It was planned in cooperation with surgeons and nurses in the outpatient surgery department. Objectives for this experience were defined and students evaluated the effectiveness of their preoperative teaching and monitored the patients for potential complications.
