Abstract
Correct evaluation and identification of the implant site during the treatment planning of an implant-supported restoration is essential for long-term success. In addition to clinical and radiographic examinations, advances in technology have provided supplemental means to identify and evaluate implant sites. This presentation evaluates linear tomographic imaging, which can be accommodated and utilized directly in a dental practice. The author has used such a device for the past two years and finds it a helpful adjunct to the conventional methods of implant site assessment. Clinical photography and linear tomographic images illustrate the presentation.
