Abstract

An efficient synthesis of α,β,γ,γ-tetrasubstituted α,β-unsaturated γ-lactams has been developed through a tandem or one-pot oxidative Ritter reaction/Knoevenagel condensation of functionalized nitriles and 2-arylketones for the first time.
