Abstract

Obstruction of the proximal airways occurs in 15 to 30% of lung cancers, resulting in a deterioration of quality of life and potentially threatening vital prognosis. Interventional endoscopy, through various techniques, allows for rapid relief of different symptoms in the majority of cases. This invasive treatment should only be used in cases of obstruction with downstream parenchyma that appears viable and according to specific types of tumors and patients so that these patients can derive the maximum benefit. 1877-1203/© 2025 SPLF.
