[Self-awareness and autobiographical memory in Lewy body disease].

Abstract

Lewy body disease (LBD) is characterized by early damage to the insula, a central region of the "self" networks that refer to self-awareness and autobiographical memory. Our work confirms that, from the prodromal stage of LBD, there is a global collapse of the self, characterized by an alteration from the most elementary and the most elaborate components, linked to insular damage.
