Abstract

Electrification of the chemical industry with renewable energy is critical for achieving net-zero goals, but coping with the intermittency of renewables such as wind and solar power is challenging. An assessment of the true cost of utilizing intermittent renewable energy reveals the benefits and the economic drivers for energy curtailment.
