Abstract

The role of radiographers' in forensic medical imaging is crucial in child protection cases yet is often overlooked. This correspondence aims to provide the legal profession with insights into the contributions of paediatric radiographers in obtaining high quality images for court presentations. It discusses the specialised training required for forensic imaging, the challenges faced by radiographers, and the importance of parental trust during imaging procedures. Additionally, it highlights the mental health implications for radiographers working in distressing situations and the need for adequate support mechanisms. By enhancing understanding of the radiographers role, we aim to inform the understanding of those working to safeguard children in the legal system.
