Abstract
In this perspective, the importance of pharmaceutical multicomponent systems, especially pharmaceutical cocrystals, in improving the bioavailability and other physicochemical properties of APIs has been discussed. How this field is being developed by the researchers using the concepts used in the field of crystal engineering, and the limitations and advantages of the pharmaceutical multicomponent systems, has also been discussed.
