This approach provides direct access to structurally diverse chalcogenated and nitroso imidazopyridines through sp<sup>2</sup> C─H functionalization in good to excellent yield by using K<sub>2</sub>S<sub>2</sub>O<sub>8</sub> as an oxidant. Abstract
K2S2O8-promoted an efficient method for regioselective chalcogenation (S and Se), and nitrosation of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines at C-3 position was achieved using diorganoyl dichalcogenides, thiols, and sodium nitrite under metal-free conditions.
