Abstract
A hybrid compound containing fragments of lithocholic acid and the antitumor alkaloid camptothecin linked to each other through an anhydride and an ester group with a succinic acid fragment was synthesized for the first time. The resulting compound was found to be an effective inducer of apoptosis and capable of causing cell cycle arrest.
