Abstract

An extensive literature search was conducted using PRISMA-ScR guidelines to evaluate ultrasound and/or MRI for postresection surveillance of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) based on diagnostic accuracy, recurrence detection, cost-effectiveness, and clinical outcomes. Of the 366 articles identified, only 8 studies met the inclusion criteria. This scoping review revealed comparable diagnostic performance between ultrasound and MRI in STS surveillance. Additionally, this study highlights significant cost savings with ultrasound utilization and emerging evidence for hybrid surveillance protocols.
