Stress in animals was induced by forced swimming; the extract was administered preventively orally over 10 days. Preventive use of the extract in aqueous suspension produced an appreciable effect on stress-induced oxidative processes in neutrophils and lymphocytes. Abstract

We studied the effect of thick extract of Potentilla anserina L. on activities of antioxidant defense system enzymes in rat blood under conditions of induced stress. Antioxidant properties of the extract were preliminarily assessed by the reaction with 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl.
