These standards specify how the properties of concrete are to be tested to ensure that it meets the required standards and specifications. Test methods for concrete are regulated in the DIN EN 12350 series of standards for fresh concrete, in DIN EN 12390 for hardened concrete and in DIN EN 12504 for the testing of concrete in structures. These test standards are developed at European level and mirrored in the national committees of the member states. The procedure for developing and publishing the standards as well as the links between the respective committees are explained. Furthermore, an up-to-date overview of the existing standardized test methods for concrete is provided. Abstract
Test methods for concrete – Overview
The standardization of test methods for concrete is an essential part of quality assurance in the construction industry. These standards specify how the properties of concrete are to be tested to ensure that it meets the required standards and specifications. Test methods for concrete are regulated in the DIN EN 12350 series of standards for fresh concrete, in DIN EN 12390 for hardened concrete and in DIN EN 12504 for the testing of concrete in structures. These test standards are developed at European level and mirrored in the national committees of the member states. The procedure for developing and publishing the standards as well as the links between the respective committees are explained. Furthermore, an up-to-date overview of the existing standardized test methods for concrete is provided.
