Government governance, supply chain finance, and new quality productivity

Abstract

This study examines the impact of government governance on new quality productivity. The study uses Chinese A-share listed manufacturing companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2010 to 2023 as samples, and finds that government governance can significantly improve the level of new quality productivity, the conclusion remains robust even after considering lag effects and replacing metric measures. Further research find that enterprise innovation plays a mediating role. Based on the analysis of the impact of supply chain finance, the study find that supply chain finance can also promote the level of new quality productivity, and it plays a weaken role with government governance.
