Abstract

The review considers the electronic structure, geometry, and spectral properties of 3a,6a-diazapentalenes, a heterocyclic system with two bridged nitrogen atoms, routes to the synthesis of these compounds from pyrazole derivatives, and their reactivity (reactions with electrophiles and cycloaddition).
