Abstract

A nitrogen cryogenic system with a capacity of 2300 kg/h of liquid nitrogen has been created for the NICA accelerator complex. The system includes a nitrogen liquefier with a capacity of 1300 kg/h and two nitrogen recondensers with a capacity of 500 kg/h each. To circulate gas in the system, two Samsung SM5000 turbocompressors with a capacity of 11 820 nm3/h each and an Aerocom 2-179/18 turbocompressor with a capacity of 10 740 nm3/h will be used. The commissioning of a closed-cycle nitrogen system will enhance the energy efficiency of the cryogenic complex, reduce the costs of its operation, and will make the complex independent of external supplies of liquid nitrogen. The status of mounting and commissioning of the equipment of the nitrogen cryogenic system for the NICA accelerator complex is presented.
