Scanning electron microscopy and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectra of native and modified color catcher sheets clearly showed the presence of Prussian blue particles on the surface of the modified fibers. The modified color catcher sheets exhibited slight adsorption of methylene blue; however, in the presence of hydrogen peroxide the peroxidase-like activity of bound Prussian blue enabled rapid decolorization of this dye. Abstract
In this paper we have described the preparation of color catcher sheets with bound Prussian blue particles exhibiting peroxidase-like activity when the N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate salt was used as a substrate. Scanning electron microscopy and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectra of native and modified color catcher sheets clearly showed the presence of Prussian blue particles on the surface of the modified fibers.
