Abstract

The diametric driven self-acceleration is manifested by two beams with positive and negative mass accelerating in the same direction. It is found that exists in nonlocal nonlinear media in the paper. Using the analogy between the band structure of photonic lattice and the dispersion relationship of homogeneous media, the asymptotic behavior of the refractive index and the Ehrenfest theorem, the acceleration expressions and the trajectory equations of two beams are obtained. The results from the trajectory equations are in excellent agreement with the results from the numerical simulation when the condition |βA|/KAEA=|βB|/KBEB is satisfied.
